Upload and Update Extensions

Click Add Extension under Personal Extensions to upload a local CRX file. ZYBrowser reads its manifest and displays the name, description, icon, and version. The file must be parseable and no larger than 50 MB.

Upload a Local CRX File

  1. Open Extensions > Personal Extensions and click Add Extension.
  2. Select a CRX file. In the web app, you can also drag it into the upload area.
  3. Review the parsed extension name, description, and version.
  4. Enable Visible to Team if required.
  5. Click Upload Extension.

After the server saves the record, the desktop client extracts the CRX into the local extension directory. If the upload succeeds but local extraction fails, do not assign the extension to a profile yet. Resolve the local error and retry the upload or update.

Update and Delete Extensions

For an uploaded extension, select Update from the card's More menu and choose the new CRX file. Updating a marketplace extension from the same menu downloads the latest version. Do not delete or batch-delete the extension while it is downloading.

Deleting removes the extension record from the active team and, in the desktop client, clears its local directory. In Batch Management, you can select only extensions on the current page that have finished downloading. Searching, changing pages, or refreshing clears selections no longer on the current page.

WARNING

Updating or deleting an extension affects every profile assigned to it. Confirm that no profile is running a workflow that depends on the extension. Review Run History for RPA tasks if necessary, and keep the CRX required for rollback before proceeding.
